Rear Axle issues??
I am hearing a growling noise from the rear when I turn. Only when I am hauling a load. Started after I sunk the truck in the lake and flooded the rear end with water. Ended up driving about 500 miles before I realized it. Sounds pretty bad. I changed the fluid but I think there is something else going on.
Most common load for the truck is about 10,000 lbs (5th wheel camper). Most severe load, about 28,000 lbs (gooseneck w/hay).
With 140,000 miles on the truck, could the bearings be out?

Yes. Bearings sound likely. Hope so, as they'll be about the cheapest thing that can go wrong back there.
You'll need a special socket to pull the rear hubs off, as the axle nut is a ratcheting type.
