Fuel tank question...

The truck came with the dual tanks, but the rear tank is no longer with us. I suspect it's in that great gas tank land in the sky...

Anyway, I'd like to add the second tank, but want to go larger. I know I can go with a Bronco 30 gallon tank in the rear, since I don't have a spare mounted there (2 spares in the bed, one on each side).

Not knowing what has been removed under the truck with the deletion of the rear tank from the PO, what will I need from a donor to be able to complete this?

I want the larger second tank because I'd like to fill them up as little as possible, and I don't drive much since I work 2.5 miles from home and drive the Lincoln or Mercedes for in town driving.

You would just have to look and see what it has now. You will need the fuel selector valve as if it is still there more than likely it does not work right.
Also the wiring needs to be checked out.

Here is a diagram of the fuel system and the electrical.

Do not look a the relay as it was put in for a mod to a newer stile relay.

Thanks. I'll get under it this weekend if it warms up some...winter has decided to give us a preview of the upcoming temps a little early.

Funny story...I asked the PO about the rear tank when I bought it, asked it the valve works and the like. He told me the rear tank leaks. After I bought it, I took it to get gas and opened the rear fuel door only to find a tethered cap...no filler tube.

I had a good laugh about that one...

Those diagrams and "schematics" that keep coming from Subford are fantastic!!!

I might have to bring my 2nd tank back to life.
