Starter is grinding after start up and blowing 30 amp starter fuse occasionally so I'm replacing the starter to see if this fixes the problem and I also plan on inspecting the flywheel for damage since this has been going on for a while with out any error codes. My question is: what's the easiest way to access the top bolt on the starter? I've got the bottom two off but can't see the top bolt and don't see how I can see it from the top either. If anyone can forward me the service manual page or provide guidance I'd appreciate it.
First Issue: After spending countless hours under the vehicle to finally get that top starter bolt off I was able to put on the new starter on. The post start grinding stopped or at least for me, however, my wife informed me today that the starter briefly grinded twice after starts. When I took off the old starter the teeth were damaged and I looked at the flywheel but couldn't really tell if it was damaged or not. Does it sound like the flywheel is causing the grinding now?
Second Issue: Low idle. About a month or so ago I was getting error code for low idle but the error code went away but the idle still feels low and getting worse or so it seems. Started in driveway tonight to see if I could make it grind and had to give it gas once to get started.
