Well, I took my cat and muffler off, so I can get 3.5 inch pipe in place of it, so it looks stock from the side of the truck, and back. It will go right into the stock tailpipe piece, over the axle... So right now I am just running the Stock Downpipe..... and I just made 17-18 pounds of boost without my ICP mod... and 21 #s with the ICP mod I have... thats with stock tuning at this altitude.... I would say thats pretty damn impressive too... with just the6637 mod I could make 12-13 on a good pull, and about 16 or so with the ICP... Shows how choking this exhaust is... Tomorrow I will know how it does with the straight pipe in place. Might loose a pound or so of boost, we will see, it might be the same though.
Im impressed, and cant; wait to get my downpipe! The "stock" numbers are lower because I am at 6000 feet, which means I drop roughly 3 pounds of boost no matter what.
Nice numbers for stock. I remember when I first did my exhaust I had just the after market DP and it sounded sick...... for about 2 weeks and then it got annoying with the 4.10's going down the high way. But around town the thing sounded mean. I bet it even better with a standard.
i drove mine around with just the stock downpipe for about 2 months when i first got the truck. i thought it was the coolest thing!!!! in high skool it was just down right cool to have a big loud truck. then it got cool to have a fast loud truck. for some reason after i got injectors kids in my skool started getting diesels. there are a bunch of PSD's up there now that i'm not in skool!!!! haha
My truck has AB injectors in it, its a California truck so its got 130 CC worht of fuel rather than the 90cc the normal OBS trucks have...
I also closed my EBPV and reved it up a little bit, and it just POURS out the coal... but that is why my truck has a little bit more smoke...
The truck still makes 20+ PSI of boost, but I have not reallly gotten on it EXTREMELY hard yet, so not completely sure on the exact amount of boost it dropped but not much... it sounds pretty good too, if the window is rolled down, but if it is not, then the truck sounds like stock did...
man that thing is just too quiet!!! haha. need to get ya some stacks mounted up there so it will make some noisee!!!
its quite at idle, just how I wanted it... and then when I am getting on it, it can get loud... its perfect. I might eventually go with some stacks, but for now this will hold me over.
