I know this doesn't make sense but I was wondering if a stock lightning supercharger could fit a 2000 5.4 expedition? How much modification would it require to work, fuel, computer, tuning, etc. I was just wondering and I am not considering to do this, the only reason I thought of it is I saw a expedition with the Eaton supercharger from a lightning, I didn't get to ask to see if that was the expedition motor or if it was swapped with the lighting motor. Would it even be worth the work or would it just be a waste of time.
How much work was your setup, was there any major problems you ran into when you did it. Any extra info you have about it would be appreciated, I am now considering it because it seems like a good swap for the money/power ratio, and no major modifications.
i bought my base setup of ebay for $1350 shipped. came with blower, manifold, egr tube, coils, and a bunch of other stuff. bought the remaining parts from mad enterprise for about $2300 shipped. parts can be had for less if you poke around and are in no hurry. i had about 7 weeks before my trip to fl, and wanted the job done before i left. took the tech about 10-11 hours to do the job. my truck is a little trickier than the 97-02's due to some minor mechanical changes. lots of info here, and on f150online.net. be completely imformed beforehand, and it will be easier and cheaper. i have another dyno run this saturday, and will post new results afterwards. setup has been on for over 2.5 years, and no problems related to the swap have occured.
