I am confused on how to get the front axels out of my 2001 F-350. The front locking hub was broke and the front u-joint needs to be replaced, but I cannot get the axel out. Could someone help me?

Remove caliper and rotor, remove locking hub, snap ring, thrustwashers, and (4) nuts on backside of knuckle that hold hub assembly to knuckle. Hub assy. will be a tight fit in knuckle-there is a o-ring on hub assy. casting. After hub is removed axle shaft will slide out...be sure to check o-ring condition, knuckle seal, and don't forget to grease spindle needle bearing when it's apart! When reinstalling axle shaft be careful not to disturb inner axle seal at inside end of tube-I support axle with a hammer handle when sliding it in.
Thanks for the reply, I have it all apart as you said, but it seems like the seal on the backside of the knuckle will not let the axle come out, it looks like the seal is bigger than the u joint. Any suggestions?

Sorry I forgot to mention that the seal is an interference fit into the knuckle-you may have to pry the axle out using the housing as a fulcrum point and prying against one of the axle yokes. The next challenge will be replacing the seal on the outer stub axle. You can usually tap the old one off-but installing the new one can be a task. There are special drivers made for this.I fabricated my own after finding out how tight the seal fits onto the stub axle! I'm sure if you search this site you will find a lot of info on this procedure. Good Luck!
