Fuel Filter sources

I need to pick up some fuel filters for my upcomming 75K service and am looking for the best price.

Found a bunch on eBay like this...
FORD FUEL FILTER FD4604 6.0 F250 F350 POWERSTROKE :eBay Motors (item 290364496518 end time Nov-27-09 13:41:25 PST)

Can anyone tell if this is indeed a Motorcraft or Racor unit?

Any other sources?

Thanks.

FD 4604 IS Motorcraft filter. You need to be sure there is the Aquabloc membrane on the primary FF ( HFCM ) That one pictured does appear to be the correct one.

What I don't like what I see is, The factory Motorcraft filters are each sealed in a clear shrink wrap along with the O rings. They could be aftermarket ones which are packed in a box with no wrap. I have both types in front of me and the ones I purchased last year as Ford FD 4604 filters in a box marked "this item replaces" 2-fd4604 fuel filter "diesel" These plastic fuel filter housings definitely did not come out of the same injection mold. Are they equal? I can't answer that, but had I known I was buying knock off's I would have passed on the deal.

I know what you mean...as important as filters are with this truck I definitely don't want to to use anything but the right ones.

Then ask the ebayer if they come with a number inked on the end of the filters such as #2568 #2598 also ask if they come in a Motorcraft box. The other scorce is a International/Navistar dealer, or just buy the over priced ones from a Ford dealer. I just got a notice from my Ford dealer that their running a special on filter changes for $99.95 and transmissions flushes for $145.99

Wouldn't hurt to ask him. I see he is a Top Rated seller with 99.9% positive feedback, but it wouldn't hurt to be sure like ljutic ss said. I changed mine in @25 min yest for the low, low price of $35 or whatever I paid for the filters. Thats like $60 still in my pocket, or 2 cases of my favorite adult beverage.

The eBay seller I originally asked about said that they were "OEM in a white box"

I'm not sure what to think...

03-6x-L if I'm going to pay that much I'll get them from someone I can trust like these guys

Ford 6.0 Liter Turbo Diesel Racor PFF-4604 Fuel/Water Seperator Filters(PFF4604): Pick Up & Excursion-Replaces Motorcraft FD-4604

I was just wondering if there was a better source out there...

I deal with Dieselfiltersonline all the time, you get your order in 2 days. Check out their trans. filters $12.99 each for the NTZ filtration, this is the company that makes them for Ford. The Ford name and part # is dyed on them.

This is where I get mine too. NEVER EVER had any problem with this company. I recommend Dieselfiltersonline highly.

Why bother with eBay for someone's one time deal on a fuel filter?

Just replace yours with whatever you can find cheap locally that are Ford spec in a sealed box.
