I'm going to get a 1987 F150 Custom this week. The engine is the 300ci inline 6 with about 185K on it. From what the owner says it's the original engine and has not been rebuilt. It does run good. What weight of oil would be good for an old engine with this many miles?

I always use Valvoline (regular) 10w30 in summer and 5w30 in winter. Or Castrol GTX anti sludge, same weights.. Ive never had any problems. I had a Taurus I ran to 245,000. It ran great. I sold it cause I didnt want to replace the power steering lines.
