Hey all, I plan to replace up-pipes and will have turbo out. Also plan to remove valve covers for harness and retorque check. EBPV is used as a brake and is leaking, so I need to address this also. Truck is mainly used to tow 7500 lb. 5th wheel between 6000-11000 ft. It may be a while before I get to it, but just looking for info now.
I'm working towards a chip and have read about surge, and the sucess between WW or ATS compressor housing. The housing sounds like the sure fix. Turbo shaft has very little side to side, and no in/out movement. Should it be rebuilt, and if so, is this a DIY job? Balancing? Any other suggestions while I'm in there?
If you don't have excess movement in the turbo shaft then I wouldn't worry about rebuilding it. When you say your EBPV is leaking do you mean the shaft that comes out of the pedestal?
