Engine #2 Photos???

Okay, guys, I don't want to go through thi$ again. This weekend I am going to yank my NEW engine with the failing oil psi, and hopefully drop in the new one.

It is basically the same build, but with the durashield coated pistons, and a comp 260 cam instead of the Isky 256, and with stock lifters.

Let me tell you, it is getting difficult to find a 75--81 core with stock bore.

I'd take and post photos this time around, but they'd be the same as last time.

Should I also take photos of the rebuild?

I guess that I would, if nothing else, you are probably keeping them for your own enjoyment for later. nothing like looking back on things a couple of years later.

Always enjoy pictures. Curious, any reason you went to the 260 cam? Reason I ask is I went with the 256 Isky in my 200ci build.

I would have stayed with the Isky cam, but now I have a connection for inexpensive part through a national wholesaler, and he carries Comp Cams.

I thought the 256 was a great cam. It sounds stock, but delivers great power when needed. I hope you like it.

Thanks for the reassuring. We both know what it costs to build these things and you're doing it twice. Your first was really clean looking, looking forward to seeing the second.

It should be a mirror image of the first, but I may decide to spray the timing cover and oil pan a different color. Internally there will only be minor changes as well.

I will post the engine photos before it goes in.

There is always something you would do different the next time. Unfortunetly that came a little too soon for you.

I'm really looking forward to seeing photos of YOUR project. It sounds absolutely complete restoration. I would love to see pix of all the goodies, especially the engine!!

Finished plumbing fuel lines and linkage. Started on the Centech harness this week so I've got wires hanging everywhere right now. Some braided wire loom is due in Monday for the engine harness so I'll post a pic when I get the wires tidyed up a bit.

First and foremost, let me say "Whow!"

That is a beautiful thing. That is, I believe, the classic inline aluminum head and intake? What size are the intake valves? And of course that makes me curious about pistons to go with the Isky 256 cam.

I also notice the angle for the header to bolt onto. Interesting.

And isn't that a late model alternator? I tried to use one, but couldn't get the bracket right and had to order an oem 100 amp. But I'm glad it worked for you.

It looks very clean. You've done a great job. What exhaust system is going on it?

Thanks for the peek.

Yea, CI head and intake. Stainless valves, 184 intake, 150 exhaust. Bored .030 over w/ Keith Black flat top pistons, moly rings, Isky 256/256, double roller timing chain, DSII ignition, 9.7:1 compression. The alternator is an internal reg. 95 amp. Still thinking on the exhaust. I have my basic idea, but will talk to my exhaust guy after I get the header on.

Very nice. I hope it works well for you. I almost went with the kb pistons myself.

It will be interesting to see/hear whether you go with the low, throaty growl or silent 'ninja' approach on the exhaust.
