Anyone planning on attending or setting up at the Deacataur swap meet at the end of the month?

What is the Deactaur Swap Meet like? I think I've heard of it before, but I don't know much about it. Or maybe it's just Deactaur I've heard of before, I dunno. Any info ya'll can give would be appreciated. Thanks

when and where is the decatur swap meet? i live near dallas (plano) so it is not too far to go. just need more information.

Decatur is on US287 about an hour north of Fort Worth. Take the Hwy 51 exit and go south. It is on the left within a mile of US287. Can't miss it. This is the first swap meet of the season and is growing every year. It is about the same size as the summer meet at the Ballpark in Arlington. There are commercial vendors there, but more "guys with a truck load of parts" than you would see at Arlington.

The whole "guys with a truck full of parts" has me drooling at the mouth. Not only at finding my own parts but maybe selling a few before too long. And when is the one at the Ballpark in Arlington? What kind of rules are there to selling parts? How much does everything cost? Sorry for all the questions, but they are the path to knowledge.

Here is a listing of swap meets in the north Texas area. A friend of mine keeps this list in list PDA, so the format is a little strange, but the info is arranged as Event-date-location. It is not complete, as there is a meet in Mineral Wells after Decatur and before Pate that is not listed. But it is a good start.

Good, Either I or my brother will be set up there (Decatur), bunch of speed equipment, (intakes etc) stainless nuts and bolts and stuff we find everytime we dig in the garage for looking for something else.

 

WOW!!! I had no idea there were that many meets on Texas. Thanks for sharing the info.

Jalopy...any chance of there being an aluminum dual plane intake for a 360/390 in your stash?

 

Nothing musch for new engines. Most of what we have is speed equipment for flatheads and inline 6's. But Decatur will be a good place to find one. Will be looking for an electronic ignition and more goodies for a 390.
