I got the F250 SRW 7.3 and the passenger side mirror is off track some how. I have googled and serched high and low for a fix. I do not want to replace these just yet with the heated '08s. Does any body know how to get inside the mirror? I can't seem to pry or find any tabs to move to allow access.
Did you push your hand on the glass and push it in and out. There are little plastic pieces that extend from the back of the glass (actually a plastic backing) into the little motors. You can pull that glass out if you really want to. It is a pain to pop back in but at least you can see what is going on.
Are you sure that your mirror adjuster switch isn't broken. That would keep it from moving too.
This happened to me on my old truck and it happened to be the power mirror adjuster switch. There are little contacts inside the switch and they were not contacting properly, so I took the switch a part cleaned it and then oiled it up. I then put it back together and it worked fine for me after that.
Take your old switch out and either try to fix it or take it to the junkyard so they can match it. The switch fits more than the Superdutys, so having it with you will help the yard match it.
