It took longer for my soldering iron to warm up than it did to remove the console and circuit board. I did in about 10 minutes. Just make sure you use a lower wattage iron and you might as well re-do all the chips at once. Also watch out for a falling chip as you remove the console. One might have completely fallen off of the circuit board. They are very small and hard to find otherwise.
The original poster of the instructions in the thread I linked you to has removed the pictures from the links. The chips look like a flat silver bar about 3/8" long x 3/16" wide and have a 2-digit number like 60 or 70 on them. There are several of them.
