The slop from Hurricane Ida rolled in yesterday and it's still going on, so the flag is inside the house right now......(inclement weather). So......'Every day it is suitable'.
(c) Inclement weather
The flag should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement, except when an all weather flag is displayed.
I've flown the Flag every day since 9/11/2001, until it was stolen by someone that needed it more than I did, about a year ago.
(One exception. September 17-19, 2003. Hurricane Isabel was 'blowing through'!)
That's o.k. The Flag has been replaced. The stanchion has been replaced.
The Stars and Stripes fly in all weather, except for the most extreme conditions. (I have to protect 'her'.)

Agreed. I wasn't showing my flag proper respect, though, when I'd check on it, and it was twisted and flung (because of high wind and wind direction) up and over into the gutter over the front porch.
Time to bring her in until most of the slop passed. It's mostly passed now....Just windy still.
My neighbor has a free standing flag pole. It has one of those eagles on the top. He put up a nice new flag (it's also lighted,) and headed for Mexico. Not strangely we had some eighty mile per hour winds which pretty well shredded the flag and wrapped the remnants around the eagle so we couldn't take it down. So I got another neighbor to help and we took the pole down in order to get that poor flag unwrapped.
A couple of years ago we had a rash of flag burnings in the neighborhood. Someone would light them up right on the side of the houses. Never did catch anyone, but most people think it was just some clueless kids. Once the papers picked it up, it just stopped. Fortunately no real damage to the homes.
My USA flag flies except at night or when it rains (following the guidelines I read on-line) and my kids fight to hang it and take it in at night, it is on a staff so I do not know about folding it. Generally keep it where we can see it from the living room at night.
Had the neighborhood kids come around and help me anchor the bracket into the bricks when we first decided to put it up.
