My grandfather hauled lumber on a semi trailer behind a 1935 1 1/2 ton Ford during WWII. It had vacuum trailer brakes. The trailer is long gone but I still have The truck.

That's cool that you have the Truck still.
Got any pics of it??
We moved it about ten years ago, I did'nt think to take any pics then. It's in the corner of the building pinned in by four other trucks (38 1 1/2 ton Ford, 48 Diamond T, 58 Studebaker pick-up And 79 Bronco). I'll try to take a couple of pics soon.
I was considering buying an old fruhoff single axle flatbed trailer not far from my house. I still might I am just not sure how to mount a fifth wheel and my gooseneck ball. Any how its pretty damn old and has vacuum brakes on it. The brake pods look like airbrake pods only they work in reverse and there is a large vacuum storage tank mounted on the trailer. I took some pictures Ill have to see if I can find them.
Hey that is a nice looking truck you are working on!! The guy has two of them but I think one might have got lost during hurricain rita, but he has one for sure. I will see if I can find the pictures. I cant figure out how to PM you so I guess just email me at mboudreaux1025@yahoo.com. I dont think I will get it because I am thinking about buying an old sawmill that has been sitting in a feild for ever, so if you can make it down here I will help you anyway I can. I also have a period correct 5th wheel if you are interested as well as a three speed auxuillary transmission with a .74OD.
Sorry about the delay on the pictures. Found out my entire Photobucket collection is in public domain (!!!!). I had to block public access to the entire site in order to lock family pictures, etc. Once I get them filed away and can unlock the master file, then you will be able to access the brake pictures.
