A true dual exhaust system has two complete sets of pipes, catalytic converters, mufflers and tailpipes running from the engine. Dual exhausts are mainly found on V-6 and V-8 motors because these engines have two exhaust manifolds-one for each side of the engine. On the other hand, a dual exiting exhaust system uses a special muffler to split the one head pipe into two tail pipes. Dual exiting systems can be installed on 4-cylinder, V-6 and V-8 engines, even if there is only one exhaust manifold.
my opinion is if you run true duals, go with glass packs or some kind of flow through muffler. or at least run two seperate mufflers not a dual in dual out. kinda defeats the purpose of having true duals and you can get a better sound.
of coarse they would say its bad, it cost about 300 bucks less. lol, i have heard that but i had all my trucks dumped and never had any problems. its the same as if you run true duals with no muffler.
I don't think you would have problems from running turndowns, but its my understanding that the exhaust will not savange as well with them.
I know people who race and they always run full exhaust with tail pipes.
yes you can run true duals with no muffler, aka- straight pipes. some say you get a better sound like that but you lose backpressure and low end torque.
gotcha can you run them at 45 degrees? whats backpressure and how do you lose low end torque? sorry about all the questions I just need to know whats gonna sound good on my truck? Either flowmaster super 40 series or something a little louder? Or true duals?
The most basic that I can explain it as from what I understand is this. Pressure is created by expansion and pushing a large volume of gas or fluid in a small area. Larger exhaust would reduce the backpressure because it would give it more room for expansion and area to fill. Pressure is force applied to a surface torque is resistance. When you have a high amount of backpressure at low end you create a resistance because it has to force all that volume through a small space. So by having that backpressure at low end that is how you create low end tq. I hope that helps.

it all depends on what your taste in sound is. If you wana wake the neibors every morning the i would go with somthing like a cherry bomb extreme. If you want a more mellow tone, not to loud but sounds good then maybe a flowmaster or magnaflow.
