I Just bought a four door F250 powerstroke with a dead motor for a couple G's. My initial idea was to have the motor rebuilt and found out that it costs around 3500 to have that done, So I started looking for used motors and I have a couple options.
1. a newly rebuilt motor from a 2001 powerstroke with 0 miles after the rebuild for $2000
2. a 95 powerstroke with 55k on it for $1800.
I know the 95 motor should swap in fine but the 01 is what I'm interested in because of the rebuild. Will the 01 be an easy swap? Any one know of another inexpensive rout?
