Well, I got the ol' girl out for a run the other day with the video camera and the GPS for verification. I posted 2 vids. Here's the link. YouTube - Speed Run '96 Powerstroke
Let me know if it works. Redone1, I guess I didn't quite make my calculated target, but I'll keep trying. The speedo was showing 160 kph when I hit 190 (on the GPS)
Nice run! Must be nice having the room to let her go I imagine there are lots of nice straight stretches to hammer down in Manitoba here in Ontario there are too many hills and dips for the cops to hide at least you can see them coming LOL
That would be 118mph. 160 kph (what the speedo was reading) is 100mph. I had a pretty decent side wind that day too. Maybe I'll try again on a calm day and see if it changes at all. I only hit 3000rpm on that run. I need more oomph........ I wonder if taking the cap off the truck might help a bit too. Notes for next time.
Waljon, there are some pretty good places to wind her up around here. Not near as flat as around Portage or Winnipeg, but good enough for my needs. I was pulling 28-29 lbs of boost too. And NO CODES!!!! I think I'll wait until I get the intercooler in for the next try though. My egt's were in the 1500 range!!!

Reason: Messed up math
That is moving pretty good for our trucks, on gravel!
Wouldn't taking the cab off create more wind resistance? I always thought a shell would aid in aerodynamic air flow. Maybe I'm wrong. the shell would deff. catch more crosswinds though.
