why do the newer trucks take so long to get some heat in the defroster/heater ducts as opposed to my old 99 150?
seems as though this started in the 05's....
once the truck starts rolling we get plenty of heat ,just not sitting still..
such as clearing the windshield of frost/ice...
i know of several folks that have taken their trucks back to the dealer because of this...and have dealerships change out the thernostats with no differance...
we like to go back to the truck and warm up during deer season,
just sitting there it just won't give us any real heat...
I know how you feel. It doesn't do any good to use my remote start because the truck only runs for ten minutes and the truck is still cold. Also my truck did not come with a block heater, despite living in Idaho.
Maybe the lower idle speeds of the newer trucks contributes to the slow warm up? Does anyone have any experience with the powerstroke's electric heater?
i just used mine this weekend at the lease and it seemed to warm up ok. i guess im just used to the same way my 05 was. i do miss the heated seats i had in that truck though. i let it idle for about 10 minutes and it barely started to heat up. when i started rolling is when i really felt the heat kicking in.
