Thought I kind of had to share this.. I havent replied yet, thought maybe when I did I would use some post from this..
"Hi Pat....
How is everything going for you and all of the folks of the FTE, haven't stopped thinking about you guys even though several months have passed.
Kristin, Justin and I are all doing well, and just wanted to stop and take a moment to say hi, and again thank all of you for your generosity after my dad passed, we have not forgotten!
Brian and I did decide to keep the truck and Brian drives all the time, uses it to tow a lot of things for the business and I am sure that warms my dads heart from above!
We are anticipating Thanksgiving to be very tough for us, as it has been the ONLY holiday for many years that all of us kids were together with my dad. It was the big holiday of the year that we always spent together with him, and it was HIS holiday with us and the grandkids. We will be celebrating it here in buffalo as we have for many years.
Just wanted to give you a quick update and if you can pass on our sincere gratitude to everyone in the FTE, and regret that I haven't been on the site to chat with all of you. I have been on, but don't even know where to go on there.
Anyways...mileage is up to 219990, almost 220 and going strong!
The only thing is, and i am sure my dad spoke of it, it wants to take off in 2nd gear, and when you apply the throttle it will drop down into 1st and then continue through the gears.
I must say we have accelerated on the throttle and pushed that button, and smoked others getting on the thruway and smiled up to my dad~!:-)
take care...samantha"
Thanks Pat.. I actually stopped over there about a month ago. I was on the bike ripping around some back roads and i figured i would stop to say Hi, But nobody was home though.
Super Super Nice bunch of folks. I will have to go find Brian and plug in the AE.
Just fired off an email to Samantha for a possible time to stop in. Maybe i can get more specifics on the problem and possibly any codes and relay them. It would be good to see them again.
Yep, starting off in second all the time can't be too good for the tranny. Sounds like it may not be down shifting all the way. I don't remember Mark ever saying anything about it, but he didn't drive much at the end. It sat for several months and didn't move.
Thanks, Pat. It made me smile when I read the message from Samantha. When I see Mark's name mentioned, I take little time to reflect on the person who was a very "noticable" part of our FTE family. He will be forever missed by all the lives he touched.
Thanks for sharing Pat. When ever someone gets in touch with his kids, let them know that we all miss Mark quite a bit. I really wish I'd have had the honor of shaking that man's hand.... one day, I will, but not for a while yet.
I sure am glad they kept that truck. Guaranteed Mark is sitting in the passenger's seat riding around with them....I get a similar "feeling" every time I ride my dad's quad.
I miss Mark. No one else gives me a run for my money the way he did.
Thanks for posting that Pat. I am very glad they kept his truck. If you do take some post from here when you respond.
Dear Markadeck Family, Thank you for the update on your family (and the truck). I think about you guys from time to time and was thinking the other day how the holidays are going to be ruff for you all. Just please remember that it is a time to be thankful, and we all here are thankful for your dad and the love and knowledge he shared.
