Ok I have a 95 f-150 4X4 5.0 liter I had a rear brake line blow, I repaired it and bled the whole system. but now the ABS light is flashing code 16 or 15 and I cant take it out of park at all. Key on or off & I have no brake lights, the fuse is good & I have disconnected the trailer brakes. The repair manual says if the accumulator is drained (which happened when I replaced the lines running to the rear of the truck) the truck has to be brought in to be repaired by a technician please tell this not true
any help would be great this truck is a little to old to be paying a big dealer bill on for repair
I would assume you have Rear ABS and not full ABS, in which case you don`t need a dealership to bleed it. Did you bleed the RABS valve module on the left side frame rail?
The brake lights need to be working for the shifter to come out of Park and for the RABS to work. Check the brake light fuse and the RABS fuse. If both good then check that the brake light switch (at pedal under the dash) is good.
thank for your replay well I learned a lesson about letting a friend help you with your truck. My brother in law helped me check all the fuses and told me they were good... I just checked again and nope #13 was blown that's the problem its fixed now thanks for the help
