Charging problem,+ need help.

My 97' f-250 ,7.3L Diesel, seems to be not charging. I have ruled out the Batteries so this leads me to believe the alternator or regulator. I dont know which and dont know what the regulator looks like or its location.
I would appreciate any input from anyone who has had a similar problem.
Thanks

Regulator is built into the alternator......People have also proven that if batteries are anywhere near the time to be replaced, do it at the same time you replace the alternator. Or if you are going to just change the alt., make sure the batteries are at full charge before starting the truck via an outside charger.

If the batteries are low put them on a 10 amp charge over night, it takes a while to charge them right, don't try it too fast or on a high amp setting.

I would first ask how you do you know that the alt is not charging? What is the truck doing? A quick check is to take the truck down to a auto parts store and have them check the alt and batts. I know that Advance Auto can with there equipment. You might want to load test the batts while your there, sometimes one will be bad and the other good but the bad one will take out both.
