Question PCV buzzing question....

I've read all the posts here about this buzzing and I still have a question.
Like most, I replaced the original plastic motorcraft PCV with a Purolator metal one thinking I was performing proper maintenance. The buzzing started about two weeks later and has got loud enough that I can hear inside the cab. My 5.4 has 122K on it so I'm sure there is some wear on internal engine parts, but she still runs strong.
The vacuum signal at the PCV seems quite strong almost too strong IMO.
I followed the hose to a port on the back of the manifold just below the IAC motor. There was no restrictors or anything that I could see. I tried pinching the hose off a bit restricting the vacuum and the buzzing quieted down considerably. Can anyone comment how strong the vacuum at the PCV should be?
Thanks
E.

I think i would try replacing the PCV valve. There is a check ball in there that when worn out can vibrate causing the issue your describing. I know i had the same issue a couple years back and that was it.

If its not it, the parts store should take it back. Very simple to swap and test.
