need some advice

as some of you may know I thought I had my 69 F-100 sold. The guy gave me a nonrefundable deposit of $100 to hold it until the end of september. He could not come up with the money. He said it would be around october 20th before he could get it and it was fine by me. Around the 29th I called him and he told me it would be nov 4th before he would have the money. I have decided that if he doesn't come across with the money by this weekend I am going to keep it. I was wondering what everyone else thinks. I have decided to fix it and drive if he doesn't come across by this weekend. I was wondering what everyone thought of this.

seems to me you could of sold it by now? And he had not been truthfull to you? He knows he lost his money. But it sound's like you really want to keep it now? So that puts it all in a grey area. Seem's to me I would tell him sorry I do not want to do any business with him and if he wanted the depoist back I would do that but would not be happy about it. I don't think he's even going to call you back anyway.

I'm a contractor. I only do small repair work any more. I've been useing my 68 I just restored, for work. Getting a lot of complements even had to two older ladies liked the truck, this week when I pulled up in my truck she (at 78 years old) said like your new truck I told her it was not a new truck she said thats why is looks bitter than most I see anymore. Have had another one (at 85 years old) came down off her front porch saying what year is that truck? my husband and I had a auto shop years ago. He stop working on the brakes when they changed to self ajustment ones. So I did all the brake work in the shop myself back then, telling me all she new about it. I did not tell her I went to disk brakes. Been having alot of fun with it. And I hope you to have fun with yours too.

"nonrefundable deposit of $100 to hold it until", means just that.

If you want to be a nice guy, tell him that you have worked with him, want him to have the truck, and will give him until noon Sat to complete the deal or he will forfeit the nonrefundable deposit of $100.00.

Or if you want to be a super nice guy, give him the $100.00 back.
