Mustang heads on a 5.4L Superduty?

I have a 2001 F-350 with a 5.4L. I have a couple of friends with the same motor and have blown out the plugs. Will a set of mustang heads fit and if so are they better than the superduty heads?

There are Trickflow heads but might be cheaper to find Navigator 4v heads or an entire motor. They made 300hp from the factory. My Dads Nav gets up and goes.

Yes, the heads will fit. Are they better? It depends on what you you consider better. You may make more horsepower, but you may lose some low end torque. Overall, it isn't a good idea.

As for the plugs blowing out, it is a concern but not a huge concern. Pay attention to procedure when you change your plugs and you won't have any issues.

They're the identical same heads. The only difference being the truck heads are from the Windsor engine plant, and the Mustangs were from both the Windsor('99-00) and the Romeo engine plants('01-present). They use the same identical camshafts, valves, combustion chambers, etc, etc, etc. Basically-you'll gain nothing.

If you're going to pull the heads, use YOUR heads and put inserts in them.

Either that, or first, maintain the plugs. Second, if one does pop, do an insert on it with the head on the vehicle.
