10-12K. But I keep my trucks a long time. I'm still driveing my '93 f-350 mason dump. I tow light trailers once every 2 weeks or so. at this point unless there is a complying reason for the diesel, I'm l' leaning v-10. 7G is just to much @ 3G it would be a no brainer (for my '93 I think the diesel was $1,800 and diesel was cheaper then gas - then)

Either engine is an excellent choice but it sounds to me like you'd prefer the diesel. Rather than just accept the 7k on the sticker, I'd find both the perfect V10 and the perfect psd and see what deal you can get. That 7k may diminish down to the 'no brainer' range...or it may not. You'll never know unless you try.
I agree with all you stated (although better fuel mileage may be debatable) except that a diesel is not a grocery getter. I don't see any reason why it isn't. I tow about 25% of the time with mine and the rest is mostly short trips. Maybe one day, my psd will explode on the way to the grocery store but it hasn't happened yet and it didn't happen to the previous one, and it didn't happen to the one before that either.
The fuel mileage is a highly debatable topic so I won't try to defend that statement. My main reason for stating the 6.0 is not a grocery getter is that this engine performs better when you don't do a lot of short hop driving. This type of driving certainly won't cause a catastrophic failure of the engine, however it may cause so additional routine maintenance to keep it running in top shape.
