400 reviews?

I am currently looking at a 79 F150 with a 400 cu in motor and a c6 behind it. How are the 400's? It was rebuilt, I'm guessing all stock since performance parts weren't mentioned, about 45k miles ago. I was really looking for a truck with a 460 but this truck looks really nice but I dont want a boat anchor under the hood. Any thoughts??

A lot of people love them. My family has not had good luck with them at all. I bought my 1977 F-150 with a 351m, so I wouldn't let it scare me away. I wanted a 460 as well. As long as it has good oil pressure I'd say it should last, thats kind of a problem area with them.
As long as it's a good truck and the engine seems decent I would go for it and you can always swap the engine later if something comes up, it's pretty easy to do. My 351m was in bad shape and I swapped in a 460.
