I don't think you have to if you drop the carrier bearing. I was told I could run the stocker on a 12" lift so I would think an 8 would be ok. but if you do alot of wheeling the suspension may put it to its limit... LOL Wait till someone with a 8" will chim in.
I extended mine for a 12" lift, I didn't want to have any issues... LOL
If you want a good lift, talk to clay with riffraff diesel. email at sales@riffraff.com He got me an Icon lift kit that rides great. You can get much better then that...
You should be ok with the front driveline. If you want to make it fit better, then you buy a transfer case re-indexing ring. This adapter enables you to clock the transfer case up to 20 degrees to lower it closer to the front axle. If you go this route then you would need a new trans crossmember too.. since the driveline will hit it.
But you shouldn't need that for an 8". I don't think you need to mess with the driveline at all. Just need the carrier bearing drop. Check out One Up Offroad Home and look at there carrier bearing drop kit. Real nice and lots of adjustably worth every penny...
I was hoping someone with an 8" would chim in, but I think you will be just fine. Like I said above, shoot Clay an email and get an Icon kit. They ride great and you won't find a better deal anywhere else.
