Hazard light and ignition problems

Hi, newbie here. I purchased an 86 f150 recently and have 2 problems with it, hoping I can get some help on them.

1. When I pull the hazard switch out only the front passenger signal light flashes, however all signal lights and brake lights work on their own.

2. The ignition lock cylinder does not seem to flip back after starting, (I have to turn it back to the run position from the start position manually). I tried buying a new lock cylinder but it didn't really help so I pulled the steering wheel off and checked the upper linkages between the dash and lock cylinder but they seem ok, nothing is visibly broken and if I push on the rod running down the steering column it will spring back on it's own.

thanks.

1. Pull the hazard switch in and out very quickly and see if it starts working. Otherwise, the switch may be bad. I believe it's part of the turnsignal switch.

2. This is a very common problem with these trucks. A little wd 40 helps along with a new ignition switch. When cold weather hits, it gets even worse.
