Good morning Neil, my brother lives near Kenosha.
I'm off to fix a wagon tire then spend the rest of the day hauling poop. So it goes in the glamorus world of agriculture.
Good evening everyone. Looks like we've got indian summer this weekend. Hope everyone gets caught up on their outdoor progects.
For the record, the old timers defined indian summer as a strech of days with well above normal temps that occur after the first hard freeze. Since I'm becoming an old timer I feel obligated to pass this on.
Is that what this is, love it and let it last a while, back to wood cutting.
Good evening everyone. Let's keep this nice weather going for a few more days, working outside is very pleasant on days like this.
Been trying to scan some photos this evening, finally got around to hooking up the printer/copier/scanner I bought a couple years ago as long as I was setting up my new computer last week - well, the computer's not new, it's an eight year old Gateway I bought for fifty bucks, but it works good. If I ever get a photo of my old two wheel drive pulling truck from the early 80s scaned in I'll post it.
Today is a day that we honor all of our current and past military personnel for sacraficing so much so that all of us would know the meaning of FREEDOM !
THANK YOU to ALL of OUR VETERANS on this day and everyday
Good evening everyone. After a few tries I figured out how to scan some of my old photos into the computer. Thought I'd share a couple, hope you find them at least a little interesting.
Back in the early 1980s some of the local truck pulls started to include a two wheel drive class along with the usual 4 wheel drives. I built this 2wd truck along with a friend of mine who had been pulling tractors and 4 wheel drive trucks, I had been building his engines and wrenching on his truck. I had no pulling experience myself but by that time had been drag racing for several years, thought this two wheel drive stuff might be fun. Of course at that time I had lots of energy and no aurthritis. I think these photos are from 1983.
We ran a 428, NP 4speed and rear end from an early 60s GMC one ton.
After a couple of seasons the truck was obsolete, the 428 broke a rod, we ended up selling the cab and body panels and scrapping the chassis.
I always thought this was a great looking rig.
My friend's brother pulled this 48 (49?) at the same time, I built the 390 that was in it and modified the chassis.
It was a lot of fun back when two wheel drive pulling was just starting, but after a couple of years people started spending crazy money on their rigs and the fun went out of it for me.
I hope folks who are fans of old Ford trucks don't mind the ramblings of an old fart once in a while.
Kind of random, joined this forum after lurking for a while and became in need of tech help (still am)... never came in here before. Figured no one would be from my area of WI. Looks like me and our leader are both from the same town of Osceola!

after removeing the grill and old head lights.
the new head lights mocked in place, couldn't resist.
well, tonight I got every thing out, and taken apart execpt for the two bolts, that mount the core support to the frame, I need a bigger wrench, im gonna have to get one tomorrow.
