Smell Transmission fluid after a flush???

Wondering if anyone that has had a transmission fluid flush done( At the dealer) smelled transmission fluid smell coming from the vents with the air on after for a while? I have noticed that when I get the tranny up to opt temperature and when I come to a stop at the lights I get the smell for a bout 2 sec. Then its gone. Never nothing during driving. Since getting the flush done last Thursday I have smelled a tranny fluid smell. I figured maybe they spilt something and it was just burning off. Well its been 4 days now with some driving and still smell it.. It's not a real strong smell but enough to concern me some. Was no pervious issues with the truck. Ran good and still does. Just wanted to get the fluid changed up. Any suggestions?

Take it back and let them give it a once over. Better than waiting for something to fail.

see any leaks underneath. maybe the trans.filter gasket is leaking and blowing back on the exhaust pipe.

Update: I didn't see any leaks. But I think I will take a much closer look with a flash light. Went to the dealer this morning and he said to drive it for a couple more days to see if it goes away. I will. I guess long as it has been noted with the dealer. I think the Smell is for sure getting weaker. koboss1 - How long after the flush did you smell Tranny fluid?

i only smelt it the one time that i had my a/c on and after that it was gone, that smell is so distinctive, but after that it was gone. ill turn my heater and a/c on again and if i smell it i will let you know but i had a/c on yesterday actually and there was no smell, likley just a little residual .

Hey fellas,
Just to add to the topic. I recently had my truck (05 PSD FX4x4) tranny flushed/changed. When I got it back from the shop, just out of curiousity, I looked under the truck and noticed a little fluid around the rear side of the trans plate. Sluffed it off as just the left over mess from them changing it. However, when pulling a trailer a couple days afterwards fluid started leaking out baddly, couldn't tell where from. I assume they overfilled it because it keeps coming out as the truck gets warm but continues to show "full" on the dipstick. Apparently there is a vent on top of the transmission that will allow excess fluid to come out if needed once you get up to temp. Does it sound like they overfilled it? Or another problem? I never had the issue untill it was serviced. Thanks

IT could be that during the flush process too much transmission fluid was put back in, this will cause the tranny to belch fluid out of the rear section.

It happened to me after I did a flush myself, put too much in when filling it up. I had to drain a quart to get the puking to stop and no more smell!!!

Will having the excess fluid tear up anything? Or will the truck continue belching it out to correct the problem. Thanks Man
