I've got no input on what size to get but I'd really recommend you look at Riffraff diesel when you get them. Great prices and the best customer service around. I got all the parts on my truck so far through Riffraff and it's been nothing but a pleasant experience.

imo for dual stacks the aussie's look the best and for a single the mitre is my fav but if your getting dual mitre's than jim's 6" setup looks good. 7" might be a little too big. but if you were to get a single mitre then go with a 7".....

jim i almost bought a set kinda like that but they were black! it was too good of a deal to pass up but i just cant cut a hole in my bed.......

That was the part that I hated to do Bill. But now that it is done I am very happy with the end result. I would like to see a dually with black stacks can't seem to picture it in my head.

Black would look better, IMO, than chrome.
7 inch would be pushing the border on redneck as well.

The only style I like is mitre cut, and even though I'm going the "blacked out" theme with the truck, chrome is the only way to go for me. Just personal preference. I'm a picky little sh** so what do you expect....

7" - single only, offset to one side (I think passenger side would be better since it would see less of an abstruction to your view)

6" - duals

the SWEETEST setup I've seen is Bob Riley's stacks. Pick up the Dec '09 Diesel World and turn to page 70. He has 6" mitre cut stacks with custome 7" heat shields....

That set up looks even better in person .

One thing about stacks, everyone thinks you want to race especially the dodge KIDS I like them on certain trucks and alot of trucks black looks great. But be ready for the drone if you have a 2000 or earlier truck.

Another thing to consider is performance; Kris (PowerstrokJunkie) had dual 6 or 7's... can't remember... then went to a single, and noticed that the truck ran better with a single. I can't remember what thread it was in, but I very much remember him saying that. Just some food for thought.

I'm going for the "blacked out" look as well, but with just a little chrome/aluminum/color to offset the dark. Here's my beast with the black bumper I just mounted up 2 days ago:

If I had black stacks poking out of the bed, I'd expect someone to ask me "So just how many burgers can you cook up in that massive BBQ grill in your bed?"....

nice bumper where u get it? and there is no way im getting a single. if anyone has a single and likes it more power to you, its just not a look i want on my rig i will admit it looks good on some trucks. but not mine no way. and i think the sound of duals is better than a single. just my opinion tho.
thanks for your opinions. keep em comin!!

That is actually an OEM 2001 Super Duty bumper that had holes cut 7 tubes welded in for the "in-bumper" lights. I bought it that way, but I believe DCSpecial did this years ago on one of his trucks. I left the black plastic trim off but the holes for mounting it are still there. I will likely need to find a way to mount a front license plate eventually... maybe!

You could contact the Chrome Shop Mafia. They have a very nice set of 10" chrome stacks. Seen them on TruckU on Speed Network.
