Electrical Problem?

Today, my 1995 F150 (5.0/Auto Transmission) would not start. Thinking it was a dead battery, I decided to jump start it. The engine started and I drove to Wal Mart for a new battery. On the way there I noticed that my electrical gauge was quivering.

Once I got to Wal Mart, I talked to the technition/mechanic about a new battery. He said I should go to Costco because i still have a warranty on the battery from previous owner and it would be cheaper to buy from Costco. So, I tried to start my engine, but of course it was dead, so he and I took about 10 min trying to get the engine to turn over. Finnally it started. I drove to the main Wal Mart parking lot because I thoight it may be the computer, as I have had this happen before. So I disconnected the battery terminals, and let it sit for about 20 min.

After 20 min, i connected the terminals, and the truck started perfectly. At that point I was pretty happy because now the battery probably is not dead after all. I then continued out of the parking lot, but as soon as pressed the brake pedal, the engine would start to die but it never stalled. I put it in park, and randomly it do the same thing, it would start to die, but it never stalled all the way. This truck has done this before, and all I did was disconnect the battery and the problem went away. This time though it seems like it wont.

I am lost on what to do. I just got new tires for the truck and was planning some road trips with it soon and I really want this truck to be able to run.

Is there any I can make this truck again w/o buying a new one?

Sounds like something is grounding out. Have your ignition module checked or replace it. If you can get to run for any amount of time pay attention under the hood when its running, see if something arcs. And check your alternator wires. As well as your starter wires make sure nothing is touching the post on starter, an the clearance or your wires to exhaust pipes.
