Prayer request
Hey guys, by now you've probably heard about the mid-air collision last night between a Marine Corps Cobra helicopter and a Coast Guard C-130. The C-130 had 7 crew members on board, and the Cobra had 2 pilots. The Cobra was from my unit, and one of the pilots I knew for over 8 years. Although there is currently an extensive search goin on, I can say that due to how it happened, I don't feel there are any survivors from either aircraft. Please offer up a prayer for the families of our lost.

Hoping for the best Danny, but you're probably right. Sad story.
A reminder that being in the armed forces is a risky occupation, even when not in a combat zone.

UPDATE- well, they have officially called off he search for survivors and are now looking for wreckage to hopefully reclaim the bodies. Unfortunately, the aircraft went down anywhere between 1300-3000 feet. As the compnay Gunny for my unit, I am not looking forward to coordinating the memorial service. Damn I hate these things....

i'm sorry about your loss in your unit. I am stationed over here at MCAS Beaufort and have attended many memorial services for marines who have been lost in the line of duty. my prayers will be with the families and loved ones of those who who were lost.
