What kind of sct tune do you run on in the wintertime- 50,60,100 or no tune at all?
Matt, when he was doing SCT tuning, had a Winter+ tune(and I do believe a snow plowing tune as well) and it was just a little bump up in hp, but it would get you up to operating temp. about half the time that a normal tune would. I always tried to get him to say what he did to do that, but he wouldn't tell me.
To my knowledge he is the only one that ever had a winter type tune or atleast the only one that proclaimed to have a winter tune.
Depending on what kind of winter conditions you get in your area, you could run any tune. It's something that you would have to use your best judgement on considering how you like to drive and what conditions you see.
I run a custom ASE from Spartan year round,it is a fantastic tune for any conditions.I would guess he could get something similar with the Phalanx but haven't spoken to him about it,if you have the cash his custom tunes are an incredible leap from stock.
Do you think Matt has that winter+ tune any more? I know that he't not a dealer for sct any more. but that would be nice to have the truck warm up faster here in Fairbanks Alaska. I've took the clutch fan off and put two 14" electric fans with the PWM fan controler on my truck to help the warm up time. The major thing that I hate is the way it idles when i'm running a tow tune from spartan arcive. when its out side in the cold is idles ruff untill it warms up a little. but when i'm not runing a tune it starts and runs fine.
