Here are the instructions for the installation of the dumb core adapter. As you can see... it is the button head plug looking thing that the core adapter surrounds when installed that has broken off... Can just this part be purchased?
nope you need a new stand pipe assm. they run like $85.00. they can be replaced without removing anything but the pipe. you will see how when you get a new one.

So is this core adapter an OEM part, or did it come with a brand of aftermarket filter?
We have 2 6.0s that have been questionably maintained in the passed, and I've been trying to sort them out. I'd just like to know if I should have that piece or not.
For $47.60 I found a replacement oil pipe at the local dealer... Why ford would want to disguise a pre-packaged IH part as their own is beyond me, but weren't they clever?
