63 Make over

I have a 63 f 1oo 4X4 all under carriage is from a 78 ford.
I want to up date this. the truck needs work all around.

Question how hard is it to put the 63 cab on a newer frame because I want the P/S, P/B, and every thing else. or should I buy the newer truck and transfer every over?

The guy who did this before did a bad job.

It might be worth a shot to go as you plan, because the 63 will not mount the 78 frame with out some grafting. I am a little surprised that the 78 didn't have PS & Pdb. I am not up on my 4x4s like 2wd, so one of the other guys might have a better answer. I do know the 63 chassis is very different from the 78.

There is no such thing as any 1978 4WD without front disc brakes.

First year FoMoCo offered front disc brakes on F100/150/250 4WD's: 1976. These brakes were standard equipment.

Prior to 1976, all 4WD's have front drum brakes.

1973/79 F100 2WD's & 1976 F100 4WD's: Manual disc brakes were standard equipment, power disc brakes were optional.

1976 was last year an F100 could be ordered with 4WD.

First year FoMoCo offered P/S on 4WD's (as an option): 1973.
