tire carrier

i wanted to mount a tire carrier from a bronco onto my 1988 f250, but if i bolt it right to the sheet metal and then mount a 35inch tire........ im pretty positive the sheet metal would get destroyed and the whole thing would fall off.... my question is, what supports the tire carrier on a stock bronco? it cant just be sheet metal....

No, it has internal support, through the internet you can find a kit if you're willing to do this.

The internal gusseting was part of the construction of the passenger rear fender on Bronco's that had them.

Encho, was not aware that there was such a kit. Where might I get more information?

Well, they are mods here in Venezuela, mostly done by 4wd specialty companies (and only done as special orders). I could find a couple places some time ago (a friend wanted just the same info as fordx316). But i don't seem to be able to find them anymore. Let me check anyway.

Ok, your comment just piqued my curiosity. I had not heard that anyone was doing that kind of modification work until now.
