In a way, I envy you folks. The CART (Grand Prix) racing series will have three races in California, one at Long Beach april 14th, one at Laguna Seca june 9th, and one in Fontana at the California Speedway on november third.

None of the races will be anywhere near where I am, so I guess I'll have to see it on ESPN or something.

It's been quite a few years since I was in San Diego, but I bet everyone still goes out to the river same as always.

As far as I know, the track in El Centro is still in business. Ditto Riverside Raceway. You folks might want to plan some get togethers around some of the races in your area, I know I'm looking forward to the racing season out here in Virginia.

Though I'm from Memphis Tennessee, I'm in Norfolk Virginia on orders. I plan to get out to the races around here and hopefully meet some of the FTE members from the mid-atlantic chapter.

The NASCAR Winston series runs at a lot of the local tracks around here, and there are also a lot of opportunities to just get out and go camping once it warms up.

I hope your chapter picks up, and starts going places. You have a lot of good stuff in your part of the country, though I'm glad I got out of the California tax-base!
