you can put 2wd rear liftgate struts on the 4x4 and it will open a couple inches futher...
My truck has 4" rancho lift and had 315's BFG AT's on it when I bought it. didn't care for the ride or handling at all. switched to 255/85r16's and have much better ride.... You will want to conisider the wife if she is going to be loading and unloading the kiddos... I just took the armrests off our child seats and it made it much easier for the wife to get kids in... though she doesn't drive it much . I would say just go with intake, 4" exhaust and a chip... that will be more than enough for the family hauler esp if you are not taking it off road.
as for the white letter tires I think it would look good though I favor banning the aftermarket chrome
I am going to look into the 2wd lift gates myself since mine are worked anyway and won't hold anything up when it gets below about 40 degrees to begin with.
FWIW, my old X had a "Mr Kid ****" Donahoe Racing 7" kit with 37" Toyos on it. It rode EXCELLENT on the road. Cannot say enough how much I loved that lift. My three kids at the time were all below 8yrs old(youngest being 3), and the wife daily drove it as the soccer mom. She never once complained about the ride height and its one of the only two cars I have ever owned that she "missed" when it was gone. I sold it because I didn't want her driving around Colorado in our winters with the lift after we moved here.
When we moved to CO from SoCal, I loaded a 26ft enclosed trailer with a 4bdrm house and pulled it out in one trip. I cannot say enough how much better that X towed with lift compared to before. No helper springs, just the Deaver springs that came with my kit. It was very stable, no sway, and was very predictable. Even with 12000lbs on the *** end. Toyos were great tires as well. Massive load rating at 4400lbs/ea and they wore better than any of the other tires I ran. I routinely towed my Jeep, and my 72' EB behind that X on my car hauler.
So, while the other 4" kits may be cheaper that you will be considering, I would definitely check out the Icon Vehicle Dynamics (new name for Donahoe Racing) lift and go that route. You will NOT be sorry. Its worth the money to do it right especially considering what you spent on the X to begin with. You spent a lot, so don't half-*** the lift!
Besides, how many other lifts can flex like this can?

Just to clarify, I love the lift and ride of my Ex, what I was getting at was that the ride on the 315's was crap and that I like the new tire setup much better... The OP was asking about the tire size.... also have Rancho 9000's this is prob my 4th vehicle running those shocks and I love them

I wasn't quoting you other than the 2wd lift struts.
The rest of my response was more to give the OP info on the lift I have run in the past.
Congratulations, OP on the new Ex. That seems like a great find. I graduated from Sarasota High School - loved Sarasota. I now live in the general Orlando area. You'll love the Ex!
Where can one get the 2wd lift struts for the Ex?? I am almost 6'3" and would love not to have to duck to get in the back. My Ex is stock height on 285's, so the 2wd struts would be perfect. Please advise.
You can buy the 2WD struts at any auto parts store, just ask for a 2WD application. I measured mine before and after, ground to liftgate and I gained 4 1/2" of additional clearance. May of even been 5 1/2" but I know it was at least 4 1/2". Great mod, especially if yours aren't holding their own in the cold weather anyway.

Any autoparts store like Autozone should sell them.
So I am headed down to Orlando to pick her up on Wednesday
.......and I am stopping by DP-Tuner on the way back to Richmond, VA and having Jody hook me up with "mild" setup - can't wait!!!
