Just posting an experience with truck, maybe it will help someone else out with the same problem.
I picked up a 98 Ranger Ex cab 4x4 4.0 with 134,000 miles back in August. Good running truck, but a couple weeks ago I started to get this rotating/squealling noise from the front drive train. I figured it was some rubber bushing or seal, so I took it in to have it looked at. Like I thought, it was the front inner axle seals. I picked it up last week Friday and it started again yesterday. So I had to drop it back off, warranty.. Is this something that is common on 4x4 Rangers?
That sounds like an easier cheaper fix than new axle seals, Is that right, I think there's been alot of issues with that vacuum solenoid that get diagnosed wrong,
