so it was going great till just about a week ago when I had to jump it... I left it running ran inside to talk to my friend and when I came out it was dead (might have been his neighbor she likes to turn things off) . later I charged up the batteries and jump it, all it will do when I turn the key is make one click and that’s it.
my friend says that the noise was not coming from the starter... so starter solenoid needs replacing or...?
i hate neighbor that do that cause it lound last neighbor got egged i would say get the starter tested it free
how many volts after u where dont chargeing it it takes a lot of volt to sart these trucks
I have 3 batteries
first time I charged them half full (sorry don’t know the volts) and then jumped it with a minivan
2nd time charged them half full tried it with the minivan didn’t work, then tried it with a car and a minivan didn’t work
form my hanes maunle for these truck to check solenoid connect jumper wire a between the battery (+)and the ignition switch wire terminal (the small terminal) on the solenoid if the starter motor operates the solenoid is okay and the problem is in the ignition switch neutral start switch or the wires
Last time I had this problem I replaced the batteries (turned out they were like 6 years old), then a short time later it did it again- replaced the starter solenoid and it was fine again.
The second time, I'm still wondering if it really was the solenoid or if it was just a bad connection...but I boogered up the solenoid taking it off so I had to replace it anyway. Starter tested OK.
