DBrawley: You can buy a CD copy of the 1980/89 Ford LIGHT Truck Parts Catalog from hipoparts.com for around 25 bucks.
This catalog was scanned from the final edition printed in 1991, so many of numbers will be updated. I'm using the "official" version...on FoMoCo microfiche slides.
faxonautolit.com is the place you are refering to in Riverside. I knew Faxon when he first started selling literature at local swap meets 30 some years ago.
The parts catalogs Faxon has, are either the individual bound one year only catalogs that Ford sent out to dealers in September.
These are worthless for looking up part numbers, as they are only good for one year, and were never revised.
These puppies came in by mail in the morning, went out the same day...in the circular file!
The other catalogs Faxon prolly has are the loose leaf paper versions that were put in huge binders, one for Text, one for Illustrations.
These puppies can weigh 10-15 lbs each, so are awkward to use. Ford updates 10's of 1000's of part numbers every year, the catalogs were revised four times a year, so...
What parts catalog revisions is Faxon selling?
Most of the parts for these trucks are obsolete. Suggest you ask about what parts you need here in a thread, or contact me by P/M or email.
I can look 'em up, verify the part numbers...tell you if they are available...or not. Maybe find them NOS if they are obsolete.
If the parts are still available from Ford, I will list the part number(s), the MSRP, and Ed's (Y2K's) discount price(s).
btw: ebay sellers are mostly clueless, do not know how Ford numbering system works, so they look at the part numbers prefix...then guess that's what the part fits.
Usually they are wrong...cuz Ford used the same part number prefixes for all trucks..BIG and small, for Rangers, Bronco II's, Explorers...and Bronco's.
These GTG's vary from area to area, so everyone that lives in specific areas has a chance to attend.
There have been GTG's in Escondido, Ventura and around LA/Orange Counties.
Most of these GTG's involve sittin' and eatin' but there have also been two GTG's at local shooting ranges.
Contact SteveBricks, the SoCal Chapter leader, if you are interested in joining...it's free.
btw: If you like real old Ford's, have you been to Early Ford Store in San Dimas?
This a combination obsolete parts store and museum of Ford and local history, and is located on the main drag in the original 1916 Ford dealership building.
