Missing KEY for spare letdown

I bought a used F250 Deisel. Love it so far but I have a problem I sure could use your help with. I had 295 tires put on and the spare is a 235. I asked the tire shop to take the 235 down and put on a used 295. Problem is there is no key in the glove box and they say they can not let the tire down without a key. I called the Ford place in a nearby town and they said they would have to take the mechanism apart and replace it and they had no idea how long that would take and what the charges would be. There MUST be a better way. How can I get a replacement key. Any suggestions??? Thanks, Scott

spare tire key missing issue

Thanks a million. I tried the 9/16 socket idea and it worked like a charm. I've already been to the tire store and put my 295 spare up. It fit nice and snug but it fit.

thanks, Scott
