Hard acceleration from a stop with a trailer/load, when in the 55-65MPH zone in 4th gear, 30 psi boost, high 2000's rpm, and shifting to OD as you approach 70?
This is what my truck started doing today. Strange "moan" and I could feel the vibration on the floor with my feet that goes along with the "moan".
It only happens for me in 4th gear and pushing hard to get to 70 with a decent load on the trailer. I thought it may be time for a transmission service?
If I recall, you have never serviced your tranny? How is the color of the fluid now?
I also wonder if you can look up at the same area with a light and see if there is a crack or soot buildup and see anything.
When it is light outside I think I will go look at mine. I don't have any noise or anything but just curious how well you can get up in there.
No, I have not had the trans. serviced yet. I did not check the fluid when I got home. 16 days on the road = park it and watch football. I'll check it today sometime. I will also snoop around to see what I can see.
My truck is great but Ford is trying hard to give away the '10's. I am tempted to sit in a King Ranch and check it out! Lord help me.
