Couldn't help myself!

Hi Guys,

This last May I traded in a 2006 300C for a 2009 F150 XLT SCREW 4x4 4.6 3V 3.73 that I plan to retire with in a couple of years. Soon after, I found this forum and have been lurking around minding my own business soaking up a lot of great info. Then I tune in today and see a couple of threads started by a guy who apparantly doesn't like his very much. I just couldn't let that pass without stepping into the light and saying something positive:

I absolutely love my truck! It has 5K + on it now and it's performed absolutely flawlessly in every respect. With a light foot I get ~ 22 MPG on the highway keeping it at 65 and ~ 17 MPG city. It hauls 5 people in comfort and pulls my Wellcraft 180 Sportsman without breaking a sweat. I plan on it being my last vehicle, but I also plan on being around a long time

Not new to Ford: I learned to drive in the early 60's in my Dad's 1950 3/4 ton. It had a small block V8 and a four on the floor (1st gear was a granny and almost never needed it). There was no synchro and it had to be double clutched! After I cut my teeth driving that thing, no other vehicle was ever a problem. I bought an '89 SHO when they 1st came out. Great vehicle. I still have a '94 4L Splash that I won't get rid of because it's been so reliable.

Here are a coupe of pics of my new baby:

Anyhoo, I'm happy to be among you now.

Best,

Ron

Very nice truck. I have had my 09 Lariat for almost two months and like you I love it. Before this I had a BMW and it was amazing to me how much bitching and crying went on in those forums about the car. It seems people will bitch on forums more then come on and tell all the good things they like with their vehicle.

Enjoy your truck cause I know I'm enjoying mine.

I have the same set up and absolutely love this truck. I drove diesels for the last ten years and said I would never by another gas truck. With the diesels clogged up with emissions equipment and the gas trucks being sooooooomuch better now I may never by another diesel truck again.
