Funky Electrical BS (all my lights are goofy)

So since I had bought the truck the low beam headlights did not work. Neither work at all BUT the high beams do. I took the bulbs out to inspect and both filiments looks superb. I checked (what I believe to be) all fuses and they are peachy. Now today BOTH my turn signals take a **** on the porch.

I'm leaning towards the turn signal switch that handles the wipers, high/low beam, and turning. Do you agree?

My hazard lights work too...

Thanks!

I'm not sure the turn signal switch would knock out the low beams. What year is your truck? Do you have 2 fuse boxes or just one? Did the front and rear turn signals go out, or just the front?

Neither front nor back turn signals work. In addition the lights in the speedo area that tell you the turn signal is on do not light up. I took this to mean that there is no signal/voltage sent there at all...

Check the connection at the t/s switch.
Not uncommon for it to come loose.

Is it a single connector? My wipers still work and when I flip from low beams (nothing) to high beams. They highs turn on from nothing on the lows.

Thanks,

A loose connector (not completely seperated) can still allow some functions of the switch.

Also, a bad switch can have some functions operable and others not.
(not to split hairs,technically it is a multi-function switch,not a t/s switch)

Just curious,do your brake lights work?

I'll also throw out one more thing, check the terminals at the headlight plugs for B+ at the low beam pins.

What did you find at the switch connector?
If the connection is good, fuses are good, bulbs are good, pretty much has to be the switch.

I ordered a haynes manual but just pulling off the column cover it looks like it's gonna be a REAL bear getting that thing out. There are no visable screws fixing it to the column so I'd imagine they are under the steel part of the column, I'll take a picture tomorrow.

Thanks!

The switch won't take more than 5 min. to get out.

Turn the key to "on",release the ign.cyl.
remove the cover screws, remove the tilt lever if equipped.
The multi function switch is right there !

How does the tilt lever remove? Is it actually threaded as it appears? Do I just turn it out? It didn't want to turn, maybe I have to get physical with it =).

Update:

I changed out the switch with no resolve... The turn signals are still inopperable... So this is what was checked and tested to be good:

1. Console Multi-Switch (replaced)
2. Fuses (all good)
3. Bulbs (good)

Only idea's I have left:
1. Turn signal relay (neither signals work)
2. some fried wiring...

Ok so Haynes says there is a turn signal relay somewhere in the loop, can anyone verify this and it's location? I think I'm gonna take a stab at this next and if this isnt it I'm SOL. Anything I left out?

-Thanks
Beefey
