well i will constantly be telling you to get a crower cam. lol. and are you wanting a rough idle and a high rpm power band? oh, and crowers online catalog tells you the powerband on each cam grind.

no, i want a low revving torque cam, the idle being choppy sounds awesome but its not real practical for street driving and defiantly not for good MPG

Hey, I am new to this site. I have a 97 F350 on 44's with several mods and was hoping you could give me some advice since it sounds like you have some experience. I have the EFI 460 with 5 speed, throttle body spacer, K&N FIPK, Banks headers, Jet chip. I see where some guys are putting in the BBK throttle bodies and/or fuel pressure regulators. How did your regulator work out? Is the throttle body worth the $300 in power/response? I am about to install MSD ignition, so I think that would help if I do the stuff above too. My chip advances timing, but how did you advance yours? Last, how hard was it to put the underdrive pulleys on? Thanks in advanced for all the help.

I LOVE my BBK throttle body. Made a huge seat of the pants difference. As for the chip. I had one in my lightning. It did 2 things, advance the time beyond usefullness and get rid of my speed limiter. I took the chip out and thru it in the garbage. Now I have it timed where it should be

TB spacer = OK. Today I ordered the BBK throttle body, MSD 6AL, MSD wires, new cap, rotor, and coil. The guys at BBK said the 1707 might not work, so I was looking at Mallory fuel pressure regulator. I will get something. I was looking at the under drive pulleys, but I have AGR hydro assist steering and I am scared it will turn my pump too slow to turn my 44's.

Hey all I have a 96' 250 4x4 with the 7.5 and 4speed auto. I had an 88' a few years back with the 7.5 also but had the c-6 backing it. I did some porting of the heads and intake and a tranny kit and duel exh. Had a heck of a time keeping rear tires on it and got 15mpg on the highway. my 96' has 260000+ on it and gets a wopping 9mpg. and half the power. Not thrilled. I'm going thru it this summer, wondering if the bbk intake and headers would build more power and mileage with the porting and exhaust than my 88 did. Im going for streetable power in the high torque area. Do they make a supercharger for the injected 7.5? On a bit of a budget due to my hobby and other projects but I've been known to blow the budget before.

They no longer make s S/C for those engines, you have to find a used one

Wow. Old thread.
To pitbull, do a search for user "boport". He did some extensive porting and head work with some very good gains.
Also there are a number of header threads out there but to make it short, banks kit or l&l headers, diesel "catback" exhaust, and build it yourself from headers to the catback.
As far as forced induction, get some flanges cut (I will have some made soon) and build a turbo setup. Brad won't let me copy his supercharger bracket yet and I can't find a used one yet, but I'm still hopeful.
If you had the supercharger head unit you could possibly make your own brackets. The efi460 bracket looks like it's pretty simple.

Lots can be done to these trucks. Just depends on what you're willing to tackle.

Thanks guys. I will be looking for a used s/c or turbo. I'm a welder and I have a good friend that's a fabricator so the brackets are no problem.
I did the head work on my 88' 460 and got great results. I will look up the guy about his head work to see if I can improve upon mine. The headers from L&L are pretty pricey. I haven't seen any solid numbers on them. They worth the $?
