oil sending unit

where is the oil pressure sending unit on my 1997 Ranger V6?

What kind of V6?

Why are you looking for it?

Where have you looked so far?

It's got a wire attached to it and it's round.

I am looking for it to replace it. Works about 1/2 the time. Not sure "what kind of V6" means. Looked for it from underneath, front, left and right side side. Not obvious where ever it is. Plus I know what they look like. Have replaced several over my life time. Like the one on the top back of my 351 engine or the one on my inline line 6 which was on the drivers side of the engine just about the oil filter.

Is it the 3.0L V6 or the 4.0L V6

4 liter- should have mentioned it is 4x4

Front Driver's side of engine, near bottom, where you would find a fuel pump on a 351W.

might be easier to get to from under the truck.
