Question Temp spike NO FAN!!

Hello to all, I recently traveled from South LA. to northern Arkansas. Along the way the wife wanted to get on the computer. With that said evrything was fine for a bit when I noticed a spike in the temp gauge. But it wasn't normal I wouldn't think. It was fluctuating a little. But when I pulled the convertor out of the 12 Vlt. source Well it would burn you it was so hot. Not loseing coolant yet. Any suggestions???? The fan never came on at all not even the whole trip. Which it's alot colder here! Any help is appretiated!! Sorry for the spelling. Just aggrivated!!!!!

Possibly electrical overload, voltage was low enough that the gauges were not getting accurate resistance readings.Your converter may have been pulling more than the alt. could handle and once the batteries were low enough they that couldn't compensate for the loss you noticed the gauges acting up.
